Shimano has released the 105 Di2 R7100 12-speed groupset, which offers affordable performance.
Similar to the Dura-Ace 9200 and Ultegra 8100 groupsets, the Shimano 105 Di2 groupset is semi-wireless and 12-speed, with technology that has trickled down from the top-tier groupsets. However, 105 Di2 is only available with disc brakes.
Shimano 105 Di2 utilizes a hybrid system, which features a wireless cockpit, paired with a wired connection between a single battery stored in the seat tube and the front and rear derailleurs.
The 105 Di2 system is highly customizable using Shimano’s E-TUBE PROJECT App on your smart phone. With the app, you can set up and adjust shift speed, alter the number of shifts per button press, and utilize Synchro Shift, which is a function that automatically shifts the front derailleur when the rear derailleur is shifted, allowing the derailleurs to work together efficiently.
Third party cycling computers such as Garmin and Wahoo can be paired to the Di2 system, which allows the rider to monitor gear selection and the battery status.
The 105 Di2 ST-R7170 shifters each require a CR1632 coin-cell battery, which is claimed to have a battery life of up to three years. Meanwhile the two derailleurs are wired directly into the central battery. It is not yet known whether the 105 Di2 groupset has the same internals and/or battery life as the Dura-Ace Di2 or Ultegra Di2 Groupsets. The battery life of the main top-tier groupset battery is claimed to last for around 1000km of riding and can be directly recharged from the rear derailleur.
The new groupset is claimed to weigh approximately 2992g which is approximately 276g heavier than the Ultegra Di2 8100 Groupset. It is expected to have a RRP of £1,730 / $1,890USD / €1,869.

Shimano WH-RS710-C32-TL and WH-RS710-C46-TL wheels
Shimano is launching two affordable carbon road tubeless ready wheelsets, the C32 and C46. This is the first time a carbon wheelset has been offered at the 105 level.
Both wheelsets share technology, including the overall rim profile, from the Dura-Ace C36 and C50 wheelsets as well as the Ultegra wheel options. However, they use a heavier carbon layup on the rims. Both wheelsets are 11- and 12-speed compatible.
The C32 features a 32mm rim height, 21mm internal rim width and has a claimed weight of 1504g (Front 665g Rear 839g).
The C46 features a 46mm rim height, 21mm internal rim width and has a claimed weight of 1612g (Front 719g Rear 893g).
