Campagnolo has released the Super Record Wireless 12-speed groupset, a long-awaited update to the existing Super Record EPS groupset.
Campagnolo has made some significant changes to their top-tier groupset.
As the name suggests, Campagnolo’s new groupset has fully wireless shifting functionality, similar to SRAM Red eTap AXS. As a result, the new Super Record Wireless front and rear derailleurs have their own dedicated removable batteries, and there are no longer any wires which run from the shifters to the derailleurs and a central battery, as what was seen with the Super Record EPS groupset.
Campagnolo Super Record Wireless Groupset key details:
• 12-speed groupset
• Full wireless electronic shifting only, similar to the SRAM Red eTap AXS groupset
• Front and rear derailleur batteries cannot be swapped in the case of a flat battery due to their different shapes, a result of SRAM’s patent.
• Faster shifting compared to the already fast Super Record EPS Groupset
• Available in disc brake option only
• New Shifter ergonomics – wider and larger in size
• Removal of the thumb shifter synonymous with Campagnolo, replaced with two shift buttons behind the break lever similar to Shimano Di2, but with some extra spacing and a different tactile finish on each to avoid hitting the wrong lever
• MyCampy App for in-app shifting customization and battery monitoring
• The shifters require one CR2032 battery which last for up to two years before needing to be replaced, and which can be accessed by peeling back the rubber on the hood
• Battery Powered wireless derailleurs with claimed 750-1000km range in normal conditions on full charge, and up to 20% charge in 10 minutes (provided you are carrying the charging cable with you)
• New crankset ratios: 50-34T, 48/32T, 45/29T
• New cassette ratios: 10-25T, 10-27T, 10-29T
• New bottom bracket system/seals (similar to the Campagnolo Ekar Groupset) with USB Ceramic Bearings
• Introduced a quick link to its 12-speed chain
• Super Record Wireless Groupset weighs 2520g in its lightest configuration (45-29 crankset and 10-25T cassette)
Campagnolo Super Record Wireless is expected to have a RRP of £4,499/$5,399/€5,200/$8400AUD
